The oldest part of this classic German town house was built in the 1840s in the traditional timber-frame style on a basalt foundation, with two extensions added in brick later, (the newest in the 1920s). The house in its present layout has 6 bedrooms, of which 3 are attic bedrooms with sloping ceilings, a shop (ca. 100m²) with separate toilet, cellars (ca. 58m²), a low-ceiling coal cellar, There is additional ample storage in the attic and high attic. The house does presently not have a central heating system; however, connection points for night storage electric heaters are in all living spaces on ground floor and first floor level, as well as the shop. The majority of windows, except the shop front windows, are PVC double-glazed. The main house was re-roofed in the late 1980s and front was re-clad in the traditional slate style ca. 12 years ago. The largely timber-framed barn has two levels: the ground floor contains a former stable, used as garage and a small room used for tool storage, the largest part can be accessed through a large wooden double-door (suitable for hay-wagons). The L-shaped yard between main house and barn was paved in the 1990s. A garden with a paved patio adjoins the barn to the back. The optional garden has been used as a productive vegetable garden and also contains numerous apple and damson trees, as well as soft fruit. There are good views to the local castle mount. All local shops, schools, pubs, restaurants bus and train stations are within walking distance.
